I hope that you have had a relaxing and enjoyable Easter break.
As we move into the ‘business’ end of another academic year, with the exam season soon to be upon us it is essential to ensure that all our school leaders are given the support needed to extend a more inclusive system for all our children and young people.
I am forwarding the Engaging Our Children & Young People – Connecting The System and would like to encourage you to send this with the supporting letter to your local councillors and MP’s using the letter template here.
This document outlines the importance of connecting together the key professionals and services who support our children and young people rather than leaving this to chance. This aligns to a number of other campaigns and strategies at a local, regional or national level including the Making The Case For Trauma Informed Strategy and Legislation in England
I am pleased to inform you about a parliamentary petition that has recently been launched, lobbying for creating a trauma-informed task force to develop strategy and legislation to address trauma in England.
The petition is open for anyone, and so this link can be shared widely: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/719451
If there are any of the national leads who you think would be appropriate to be listed at a formal endorser, the link is. This is for National leads, MPs or independent specialists: Endorsement for a Trauma-Informed Strategy and Legislation in England
ARC have also been working in partnership with the Virtual Schools across the Midlands and The Mighty Creatives to help raise awareness and develop a Cultural Entitlement For All Our Children & Young People
Again, we feel strongly that the Arts play a key role in all individuals well-being and good mental health and support the request for Make space for the arts: an open letter to Bridget Phillipson MP, Secretary of State for Education and Lisa Nandy MP, Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport:

ARC will continue to be committed to drive these connections, working proactively with key partners in a range of forums. If there are local or regional networks you are aware of and would benefit from a national profiler, please do get in touch.
I am delighted to see the significant interest and increase in nominations for the ARC Timpson Awards now they have been extended regionally. The Judging Panels will be meeting over the next few weeks with the aim to present to the regional winners across the six categories at a number of events over the summer term. All regional winners will automatically be shortlisted for the national awards which are being presented at the ARC Annual Conference on Tuesday 11th November 2025 in Birmingham.
I am looking forward to seeing colleagues at our summer term webinars, conferences and events as outlined in this newsletter and on our website. All are available to ARC members and non-members.
